Merseyside club are willing to listen to offers for a permanent move, but would prefer to keep the player instead
Federico Chiesa will remain at Liverpool beyond this transfer window despite interest from Napoli and Juventus.
The player has struggled for game time under Arne Slot. Last season he made only six league appearances, starting just once. That was partly due to injury issues but this season he has regained fitness, only to start just one league game so far.
He was also left out of Liverpool’s Champions League squad in September, ahead of 17-year-old forward Rio Ngumoha. He was only included after young defender Giovanni Leoni was ruled out of the season due to a cruciate injury.
Despite the interest, there have been no formal approaches from any club for Chiesa’s services this window. Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for a permanent move, but would prefer to keep the player instead, according to Sky Sports.
Chiesa has made a case for more minutes by producing two goals and one assist so far this season despite the lack of game time.
The Italian joined Liverpool from Juventus in 2024 and his contract runs out in 2028.
