Bayern Munich will be without several key players as the club seek to secure both the Bundesliga and the Champions League trophies.

The squad has been hit by an injury wave, with Manuel Neuer, Hiroki Itō, and Aleksandar Pavlović all out. Alphonso Davies suffered a tear in the cruciate ligament in his knee while on international duty, and it has been announced that the left back will be out for six months.

Dayot Upamecano, who also has a problem with his knee, will not be available for several weeks. Both players’ absences have further depleted options in defence.

To compound matters, young midfielder Jamal Musiala suffered a torn hamstring during Friday’s 3-1 win against Augsburg, sidelining him for the foreseeable future.

On Saturday, the German midfielder posted a passionate message to fans on social media: “From now on, it’s all about getting back on the pitch as quickly as possible,” he said. “We still have big goals this season, and I will do everything I can to achieve them together with our fans.”

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany said his team would do all it takes to achieve their goals this season, regardless of injuries.

“We’ve worked hard to get into the situation we’re in now,” said Kompany. “You can’t do much more than that at this moment. In the next six games in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League, we just want to take our chance to win something, to be successful.”

Bayern Munich are six points clear at the top of Bundesliga, with six games to go. They also face Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Bayern will be seeking to win the club’s fourth Champions League title. The last time the club won the competition was in the 2019/20 season.
