Mikel Arteta is taking things one game at a time as Arsenal looks to build on their four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
“We can always be better,” Arteta said when asked about increasing the gap on the chasing pack. “The only thing that matters is Bournemouth.” Arteta is pleased with the energy and ambition of his players, who are transmitting their desire to win every day.
Leandro Trossard is one player who’s typifying that approach, and Arteta is full of praise for the Belgian winger. “I think he’s gone up every season. He’s a player who really wants it, he’s found his maturity here,” Arteta said.
Trossard’s form has been impressive, and Arteta is delighted to have him at the club. “We are very happy with him, we’ve talked about it many times and I think he’s very happy here,” the manager added.
Arteta was also asked about Enzo Maresca’s departure from Chelsea, and he wished the Italian coach all the best. “I really like Enzo. I think he’s done a really good job at Chelsea, just wish him all the best,” Arteta said.
With the top-of-the-table clash against Bournemouth looming, Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead and keep the pressure on Manchester City.
