Archie Gray’s first senior goal gives Tottenham Hotspur a hard-fought 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, ending their four-match winless streak.
Tottenham Hotspur secured a vital 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, thanks to Archie Gray’s first career goal. The 19-year-old midfielder scored in the 42nd minute, heading in Richarlison’s clever flick from a Pedro Porro corner.
Crystal Palace dominated the first half, creating several chances but failing to convert them. Richarlison had a goal ruled out for offside, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Justin Devenny also squandered opportunities.
Gray’s goal came against the run of play, but Spurs held firm to secure the win. Palace continued to push for an equalizer, but Tottenham’s defense stood strong.
The victory moves Tottenham up to 11th in the Premier League table, easing pressure on manager Thomas Frank. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, remains winless in five games.
“I’m delighted for Archie,” Frank said. “He’s worked hard, and it’s a great feeling for him. We needed this win, and it’s a big boost for us.
Gray expressed his joy after scoring his first senior goal: “It’s the best feeling. You work your whole life for that moment, and hopefully, I can keep it going.”
