Inter Milan returned to the top of Serie A with a 1-0 win over Atalanta, thanks to Lautaro Martínez’s second-half strike. The victory marks Inter’s fourth consecutive league win.
The first half was slow-burning, with Inter dominating possession but struggling to create clear chances. Atalanta’s goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made crucial saves to deny Marcus Thuram and Martínez.
Atalanta had a scare when Thuram’s shot was ruled out for offside after VAR intervention. The hosts failed to register a shot on target before the break.
The game opened up after the break, with Atalanta carrying more of a threat. However, Inter’s defense held firm, and Martínez scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute.
Berat Djimsiti’s misplaced pass gifted Inter the chance, and Pio Esposito’s perfect pass set up Martínez for the finish. The Argentine striker has now scored eight career goals against Atalanta.
Atalanta pushed for an equalizer but couldn’t break down Inter’s defense. The visitors held on to claim a fourth consecutive league win.
