Napoli coach Antonio Conte praises Rasmus Hojlund’s improvement but emphasizes the team’s limitations and the gap with top clubs like Juventus, Inter, and Milan.

Napoli coach Antonio Conte is pleased with Rasmus Hojlund’s progress, citing the striker’s improvement in understanding his role and connecting with the team. Hojlund scored a brace in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Cremonese.

“He is really well connected with the team. In my style of football, the strikers have a very important and special role in the overall approach, and he has huge margin for further improvement,” Conte told the media

Conte emphasized that Napoli are not at the same level as top clubs like Juventus, Inter, and Milan. “Our infrastructure isn’t ready, I feel Juventus, Inter and Milan have the structure, strength in depth and wage bills that are above all the other clubs,” he said.

The Partenopei are facing numerous problems this season, but Conte is proud of his team’s courage and dedication. “We celebrate a wonderful year where we did something truly unexpected and extraordinary with the Scudetto, then capped off with the Supercoppa,” he said.

Napoli’s Supercoppa Italiana triumph was a highlight, but Conte knows they must keep pushing in Serie A. “We are up there, trying to stick close to the top spots,” he said.

Hojlund’s improvement is a positive sign, but Conte is realistic about the team’s limitations. “He is a player who is very young, he’s still only 22 years old, and can improve a great deal,” he said.

On the gap between Napoli and other teams, Conte said “We try to bridge the gap as much as possible with hard work and dedication, but we cannot ignore that gap exists.”
