Christopher Nkunku scores his first two Serie A goals as AC Milan beats Hellas Verona 3-0.

AC Milan moved two points clear at the top of the Serie A table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hellas Verona at the San Siro.

Christopher Nkunku netted his first two Serie A goals, helping the Rossoneri extend their unbeaten league run to 15 games.

The first half was tame, with the first opportunity falling to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, whose 20-yard deflected effort flashed narrowly wide. The hosts took the lead in stoppage time, with Christian Pulisic hooking the ball home from close range after a Luka Modric corner.

The second half began dramatically, with Nkunku awarded a penalty after 46 minutes. He stepped up and sent Lorenzo Montipò the wrong way, doubling Milan’s advantage.

Nkunku’s second goal came just five minutes later, as he reacted quickest to tap the ball into the net after Montipò tipped Modric’s strike onto the post. Verona’s defense was all over the place.

Verona’s struggles continued, with Loftus-Cheek’s effort from inside the box denied by Montipò. The game petered out in its closing stages, with Milan securing a comfortable win.

The victory moves Milan top of Serie A, pending other results. Verona remains in 18th place, two points adrift of safety.
