Napoli is considering a January transfer for Bayern Munich’s Goretzka to bolster their midfield.

Napoli is looking to strengthen its midfield in the January transfer window, with Leon Goretzka being their top target. The Italian champions are seeking to address the void left by injured players Kevin De Bruyne and Frank Anguissa.

Goretzka, who joined Bayern from Schalke 04, is currently under contract until the summer, and the club is unlikely to sell him mid-season. Despite being linked with Juventus earlier, reports suggest Bayern won’t consider selling Goretzka in January.

The 30-year-old midfielder has made 23 appearances this season but has struggled to secure regular playing time under Vincent Kompany, playing just 1,108 minutes.

Napoli’s interest in Goretzka is driven by his experience and quality, but the club is aware that Bayern may not be willing to sell. As a result, they’re also considering alternative options like Kobbie Mainoo, Soungoutou Magassa, and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Goretzka’s contract situation is likely to be revisited in early 2026, and he may choose to leave Bayern on a free transfer if he can’t secure regular playing time.
