Borussia Dortmund hosts Borussia Monchengladbach with Gladbach looking to secure their first win against Dortmund in six matches.
Borussia Dortmund will look to bounce back from their recent draw against Freiburg when they host Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
Borussia Dortmund have struggled offensively, producing only three shots against Freiburg, but their poor display can be partly attributed to being reduced to 10 men after Jobe Bellingham’s red card.
Despite this, Dortmund has been in good form, with only one loss in their last 14 Bundesliga matches. They’re currently level on points with second-placed RB Leipzig but face a tough task in overtaking Bayern Munich, who lead the table by nine points.
Gladbach, on the other hand, are desperate for a win to move away from the relegation zone. They’re only five points clear of 16th-placed St Pauli and have a woeful goal-scoring record, with just 18 league goals this season.
However, they’ve shown signs of improvement, winning four and drawing one of their previous five league fixtures before their recent defeat to Wolfsburg.
Team News
Dortmund will be without Jobe Bellingham due to suspension, with Pascal Gross and Felix Nmecha likely to fill the gap in midfield. Niklas Sule, Emre Can, and Nico Schlotterbeck are expected to feature in the three-man defense.
Gladbach’s absentee list is extensive, with several key players missing, including Robin Hack, Tim Kleindienst, and Nathan N’Goumou.
Predicted XI
Borussia Dortmund: Kobel; Sule, Can, Schlotterbeck; Ryerson, Gross, Nmecha, Svensson; Adeyemi, Chukwuemeka; Guirassy
Borussia Monchengladbach: Nicolas; Scally, Elvedi, Diks; Castrop, Reitz, Engelhardt, Netz; Machino, Reyna; Tabakovic
