Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca confirmed that Brazilian winger Estevao will miss the Premier League clash against Newcastle due to a small muscle problem.
Chelsea fans expected to see Estevao in the starting XI against Cardiff yesterday, but he wasn’t even in the squad list. Maresca explained that Estevao wasn’t with Chelsea’s team, which won 3-1 against Cardiff, and reached the semi-final of the EFL cup due to a small muscle problem.
Progressing to the semis means that Maresca has taken Chelsea to three semi-finals in less than two years that he has been in the club.
When asked about Estevao after the game, Maresca said the Brazilian winger will miss the next game against Newcastle but hopes he will be back as Chelsea face Aston Villa and Bournemouth to close out their December fixtures.
