Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany expects Jamal Musiala to return to full team training before Christmas, with the midfielder closing in on his recovery from a fractured fibula.

Musiala has been sidelined since the Club World Cup, and Kompany is optimistic about his progress. “Jamal is close. Hopefully next week,” Kompany said at a press conference.

The coach emphasized that there’s zero pressure on Musiala and the medical department, prioritizing a safe return. “Hopefully, he can get in a few training sessions before Christmas. That would simply feel good – for the team and for him.”

Kompany outlined an ideal plan for Musiala’s return, with first minutes on the pitch expected in January. This would allow Bayern to have their star player back for crucial matches.

Bayern’s final two matches of 2025 are against Mainz and Heidenheim, but Musiala’s return will likely be saved for the new year.

The team’s attacking lineup has missed Musiala’s contributions, and his return is eagerly anticipated. With Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito also returning from injuries, Bayern’s squad is getting back to full strength.
