Top Europeans Clubs Exploring A Move for Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood has been in impressive form since joining Marseille and his performances  have caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs, making a move to a bigger stage a realistic possibility.

Greenwood has been in top form, scoring 35 goals and providing ten assists in 56 matches for Marseille, leading the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

However, Greenwood’s career is not without controversy which has made any move for him a bit complicated. He was previously charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm while at Manchester United, but the case was dropped after a key witness withdrew. This has led to criticism, including from Marseille’s mayor, who labeled the signing a “disgrace”.

Despite this, Greenwood has performed exceptionally on the pitch, earning interest from several major clubs. Tottenham and West Ham have been linked, but a return to the Premier League seems unlikely due to public scrutiny. Instead, clubs in Europe, such as Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, are considering a move, impressed by his footballing merit.

Greenwood’s experience playing in Spain with Getafe and his current success in France make him an attractive prospect. His form has led to speculation about a potential transfer, with scouts from major clubs monitoring his performances closely.

Marseille would likely demand at least €75 million for Greenwood, with Manchester United benefiting from a 50% sell-on clause. Interested clubs are still weighing up the move but in January, Greenwood could possibly be close to a move away from Marseille.
