United’s fixture one of four all-Premier League ties; matches to be played around the weekend of 10-11 January
Manchester United will host Premier League side Brighton in one of the standout fixtures of the FA Cup third round.
United have struggled against the Seagulls in recent years, losing four of their last six games, although Ruben Amorim’s side secured a statement 4-2 win over Brighton in October.
The last time both sides met in the FA Cup was in 2023, when United won on penalties en route to the final where they beat Manchester City to secure the trophy under Erik ten Hag.
There are three other all-Premier League ties: Aston Villa face Tottenham in north London; Everton host Sunderland; and Newcastle take on Bournemouth at St James’ Park.
Elsewhere in the draw, holders Crystal Palace face sixth-tier Macclesfield, currently 14th in National League North.
Premier League leaders Arsenal will travel to Portsmouth. Liverpool will face Barnsley at Anfield, and champions Manchester City head to League One Exeter. Chelsea will face Charlton at The Valley.
All matches will be played around the weekend of 10-11 January 2026.
