Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is facing disciplinary action after allegedly being filmed inhaling nitrous oxide for the second time.

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is in hot water again, facing disciplinary action from his club after allegedly being filmed inhaling nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, for the second time.

Footage obtained by popular media outlet The Sun newspaper appears to show the Mali international inhaling the gas from a balloon at a party in November.

This is not the first time Bissouma has been involved in a nitrous oxide controversy. He was previously suspended for one game in August 2024 after being caught inhaling the gas, and apologized for a “severe lack of judgment”.

A Tottenham spokesperson has confirmed that the club is investigating the incident and will deal with it as an internal matter. “We are looking into the events, and it will be dealt with as an internal matter,” the spokesperson said.

Bissouma, 29, is currently sidelined following ankle surgery and has been away from the Tottenham squad. He has not made an appearance under manager Thomas Frank, having been left out of the UEFA Super Cup squad in August due to persistent lateness.

The midfielder’s last appearance was on May 25 against his former club Brighton, days after starting in the Europa League final win over Manchester United. His current contract is due to expire next summer, and the club has the option to extend it for a further 12 months.

Bissouma’s latest incident has raised concerns about his future at the club, with some reports suggesting he could be shown the door in January. The player has deleted all references to Tottenham on his Instagram account, fueling speculation about his future.

Nitrous oxide was made a Class C drug in the UK in 2023, and possession of it for recreational use is an offence. Bissouma’s actions have sparked concerns about his behavior and future in the sport.
