Arsenal defender William Saliba heaps praise on new teammate Eberechi Eze, saying he’s an ‘unbelievable’ player and a ‘nightmare’ to play against.
William Saliba, one of the best center-backs in the world, has praised Arsenal’s summer signing Eberechi Eze, saying he’s an ‘unbelievable’ player.
Saliba faced Eze numerous times when he played for Crystal Palace and admits it was a ‘nightmare’ to play against him.
Eze, a boyhood Arsenal fan, joined the Gunners in August after a dramatic transfer saga that saw Arsenal hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s move. He has since made a decent start to life at the Emirates, scoring a stunning hat-trick against Spurs in a 4-1 win.
Saliba is thrilled to have Eze as a teammate, citing his exceptional technical ability and confidence on the ball. “Technically, he is like so good when you give him the ball. He’s never under pressure. He trusts himself, can score, he can pass, and he got the number 10 on his back as well,” Saliba said.
The French defender has faced some of the best attackers in the world, including Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and Erling Haaland, but Eze was a different challenge altogether. “Since I arrived at Arsenal, I have played a lot against him, and I watched him a lot. He’s wow… he’s an unbelievable player,” Saliba said.
Eze’s arrival at Arsenal has been a welcome boost, and Saliba believes he can take the team to the top level. “To have him in my team now is good because he can bring us to the top, top level,” he said.
