Enzo Maresca talked about the importance of players like Fofana, Caicedo, and Reece James as the Blues lost 3-1 to Leeds.

Enzo Maresca has highlighted the importance of players like Wes Fofana, Moises Caicedo, and Reece James to Chelsea’s season.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the 3-1 defeat to Leeds United, Maresca explained that these players are crucial to the team, but they can’t be used in every game.

Maresca noted that the team has to manage the players’ workload, given the congested fixture schedule. “Again, because we change players, because we’ve players that we said many times that for them it is not possible to play every two, three days,” he said.

The Italian gaffer emphasized that players like Fofana, Caicedo, and James are important not just for Chelsea, but for any team. “They’re important players for us, but they can be important players for any team,” Maresca said.

However, Maresca also acknowledged that using these players in every game is not feasible, citing the risk of injury. “We cannot use them in every game. It is impossible, because otherwise they can get injured again and be out for months and months,” he said.

The defeat to Leeds United was a setback for Chelsea’s title ambitions, and Maresca will be looking to regroup and refocus for their next match.

The Blues will be hoping to get their key players back to full fitness and ready for the challenges ahead.
