Juventus has announced that striker Dusan Vlahovic will be out of action for a while due to a serious thigh injury.

Reports suggest Vlahovic could be out for two to three months, although the exact timeline is still uncertain.

The Serbia international was forced to leave the field just 30 minutes into the weekend’s 2-1 win over Cagliari, prompting further radiological examinations on Monday

The tests revealed a high-grade injury to the muscle-tendon junction of Vlahovic’s left adductor longus. Juventus stated that further medical consultations are necessary to determine the best course of treatment.

Vlahovic has been in top form, scoring twice and getting an assist in his last six appearances for Juventus. His absence is a significant blow to the team, who are currently seventh in Serie A and looking to close the five-point gap with leaders Inter Milan.

Juventus faces Udinese in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday, followed by a league clash at second-placed Napoli on Sunday.
