Serie A 2025 Awards: McTominay Crowned Player of the Year

Napoli’s Scott McTominay wins the Serie A Player of the Season award for leading his team to the Scudetto title in 2025.

Scott McTominay has been named the Serie A Player of the Season. The Scottish midfielder played a crucial role in Napoli’s Scudetto win, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in the league.

The Gran Gala del Calcio Awards, held in Milan, also recognized other talented players, including Lautaro Martinez and Tijjani Reijnders, who made the Top 11 list. Inter and Napoli dominated the list, with seven players represented, including Denzel Dumfries, Amir Rrahmani, and Alessandro Bastoni.

Individual awards were also presented, with Antonio Conte named Coach of the Year and Napoli crowned Club of the Year. Inter striker Francesco Pio Esposito took home the Italian Golden Boy award, while Udinese defender Nicolò Bertola received the Best Young Serie B Player award.

Cagliari defender Alessandro Deiola was recognized for his impressive goal against Venezia, winning the Goal of the Year award. This goal was also nominated for the prestigious FIFA Puskas Award

McTominay’s win marks a remarkable debut season in Italy, following his transfer from Manchester United. He has become a fan favorite in Naples, earning the nickname “McFratm” (my brother) from locals.
