Noni Madueke’s debut Arsenal goal capped a 3‑1 Champions League win over Bayern, keeping the Gunners perfect in Europe and top of the Premier League.
Noni Madueke came off the bench to turn Riccardo Calafiori’s cross into the net in the 69th minute to open his Arsenal account at the Emirates.
The England winger, who joined from Chelsea in July, described the night as “perfect” after a long knee injury that kept him out for over two months.
“It was a Champions League night, so it was perfect to get my first goal for the club and for the win on top. It’s amazing,” Madueke said. He also added that the injury period was “difficult” but he finally made up for it.
He had just returned to action on Sunday, coming on late in Arsenal’s 4‑1 derby win over Tottenham before replacing injured Leandro Trossard against Bayern.
Arsenal’s dominance was evident as they secured a 3-1 victory, with Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli also on target. The result kept the Gunners flawless in the Champions League this season and handed Bayern their first defeat in all competitions. Inter’s loss left Arsenal the sole team with a maximum 15 points in Europe.
“It’s a massive show what we’re producing at the moment, not just in the Champions League, but our domestic form. We need to continue at this level and just keep it going,” the 23‑year‑old emphasized. He added that the squad is “incredible” and must keep adapting and pushing boundaries to stay at the top.
Arsenal sit top of the Premier League with 29 points, extending their advantage. Their next test is Sunday’s London showdown against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a clash that could widen the gap at the summit.
