Dayot Upamecano insists money isn’t the issue in contract talks with Bayern Munich, as Real Madrid and PSG eye the French defender.

Dayot Upamecano has downplayed financial concerns in his contract negotiations with Bayern Munich, stating “it’s not about the money” after Bayern’s 6-2 win over Freiburg.

The 27-year-old French defender has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in securing his signature.

Upamecano’s current contract runs until 2026, and Bayern Munich is eager to extend his stay. Club president Herbert Hainer expressed optimism about reaching an agreement, saying, “I believe he feels comfortable in Munich. We’d like to keep him”

Despite reports suggesting Upamecano’s signing-on fee demands are a stumbling block, he emphasized his focus on the team: “I’m happy here, playing a good season, doing my job, giving everything for this club”
