Clubs could seek to trigger player’s release clause as early as the January transfer window
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is not worried about the possibility of in-form forward Antoine Semenyo leaving the club in the January window.
The forward’s performances have drawn interest from the bigger sides in the Premier League. In the summer, Manchester United and Tottenham both made attempts to sign him.
It has been revealed that the player has a £65m release clause in his contract, which clubs could trigger as early as January 2026. Speculation has mounted about whether any of the traditional big six sides could make an early move for the player.
But Iraola pushed back when asked about the possibility of losing the Ghana international next month.
“We are in November,” said Iraola. “Antoine is our player, he will continue to be our player. In January, you can ask me about the market but right now, I am not worried about the next market.
“I am not worried about the situation. In January, we will talk about whatever happened, the players we need.”
Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s most consistent performers under Iraola. Last season he contributed 11 goals and six assists in 37 league appearances, and he has followed that up this season with six goals and three assists in 11 league games played so far.
