Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has been discharged from the hospital after being treated for cardiac complications.
Oscar, the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder, has been released from the hospital after a five-day stay due to cardiac complications. He was admitted to Einstein Hospital Israelita on Tuesday after suffering cardiac alterations during pre-season tests.
The former Chelsea star was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, a common form of fainting caused by a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. São Paulo confirmed that Oscar is stable and clinically well, and will now follow a medical program of rest for the next few days.
Oscar’s health scare has raised concerns from his family members about his football career, but his club is optimistic about his recovery. The midfielder had a successful career, winning the Premier League twice with Chelsea and the Chinese Super League three times with Shanghai Port.
Oscar returned to São Paulo in December last year, signing a three-year contract with his boyhood club.
The midfielder’s condition is being closely monitored, and he will undergo further medical evaluations to ensure his safety.
