Winger has been the subject of a dispute between Barcelona and the Spain team
Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has dismissed concerns of a dispute between Spain and Barcelona after Lamine Yamal pulled out of the national team earlier this week.
The teenager left the Spain squad after having gone through treatment for a groin problem, with the Spain team frustrated that Barcelona did not communicate this to them.
“The best news is that he has 15 years left with us,” De la Fuente said.
“We have to think about the present and the future. The present means relying on the players we have, winning and almost securing qualification, and that is our concern.
“Everything can be improved, and we will try to improve in all areas, but what we have to improve is tomorrow’s performance. We are doing well and we need to keep improving.”
Yamal has been capped 23 times already for his country at 18. He is a highly valued member of the squad for both club and country but has struggled with a groin condition called pubalgia this season.
Spain go into the game against Georgia top of Group E, with a win likely to secure qualification mathematically, although a place in the 2026 World Cup is all but assured.
