The UEFA EURO 2028 tournament will kick off in Cardiff, Wales, and conclude with the final at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

The opening match of the UEFA EURO 2028 tournament will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on June 9, 2028. The stadium, also known as the National Stadium of Wales, will host the Group A game, marking a historic moment for Welsh football.

Wembley Stadium in London will host the semi-finals and the final, with the latter taking place on July 9, 2028. The iconic stadium will also host one of the quarter-finals, while the other quarter-finals will be played in Cardiff, Dublin, and Glasgow.

The tournament will feature 24 teams competing across nine venues in eight cities, including Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and Newcastle. The host nations, England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland, will not receive automatic qualification and will have to go through the qualifying process.

The qualifying draw is scheduled to take place in Belfast on December 6, 2026. Italy, the defending champions, are hoping to qualify for the tournament and defend their title.

Other venues hosting matches include the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Villa Park in Birmingham, Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, and St James’ Park in Newcastle.
