Atalanta has sacked manager Ivan Juric following a 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo, with former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino tipped to take over.
Atalanta has parted ways with manager Ivan Juric, citing a disappointing start to the season as the reason for his dismissal. The Croatian coach had been in charge of the Bergamo-based club since June, taking over from the legendary Gian Piero Gasperini.
Juric’s tenure in the 2025/26 season was marked by a string of poor results, including a 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo, which left Atalanta languishing in 13th place in Serie A. The team has managed just two league wins this campaign, trailing leaders Inter Milan by 11 points.
“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as first team coach,” the club said in a statement. “Atalanta BC would like to thank Ivan Juric and his staff for their hard work and wishes them all the best for the future.”
Juric’s departure comes as no surprise, given his troubled past at Roma and Southampton. He lasted less than two months in charge of Roma before being fired, and his stint at Southampton ended with relegation from the Premier League.
Former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino is the favorite to take over as Atalanta’s new manager.
Atalanta’s next match is against Napoli on November 22nd, and the team will be looking to bounce back under new leadership.
