Tottenham vs Chelsea: Team News, Predicted XI

Tottenham host Chelsea in a highly-anticipated London Derby.  

Both teams have suffered a mix of results in the past week. After losing to Sunderland at the weekend, Chelsea narrowly escaped defeat in the Carabao Cup with a 4-3 win over Wolves.

Tottenham on the other hand, thumped Everton 3-0 at the weekend but suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Carabao Cup holders Newcastle.

For both teams, this game is about finding their form, correcting mistakes and sticking to winning ways.

Team News

Tottenham are set to be boosted by the return of Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie against Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The pair have not played since the international break earlier this month and have been training individually to step up their recoveries.

Romero has had an adductor issue and Udogie picked up a knee injury while on Italy duty, but both are in contention to face Chelsea. Wilson Odobert is also fit and available after a side strain.

Guglielmo Vicario will return to the starting lineup after being left out of the squad for the midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle.Archie.

Gray is out with a calf injury and Dominic Solanke will not return until after the international break, as his recovery from ankle surgery remains slow.

Chelsea are also dealing with several setbacks in attack, as Liam Delap is suspended following his dismissal against Wolves in midweek – an incident that drew strong criticism from manager Enzo Maresca.

The young forward joins Cole Palmer, Dario Essugo, Benoît Badiashile, Levi Colwill on the list of absentees for the visitors.
