Mbappe Joins Elite Company After Extending Clásico Scoring Streak

French forward has found the net in four consecutive clásico fixtures, becoming only the third player to achieve the feat this century

Kylian Mbappe etched his name alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho in clásico history after scoring again for Real Madrid in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The French forward’s first-half strike means he has now found the net in four consecutive clásico fixtures, becoming only the third player to achieve the feat this century.

The only others to do so are Ronaldinho, who scored in four straight meetings between 2004 and 2006, and Ronaldo, who managed six in a row in 2012.

Mbappe has had an impressive start to life in Spanish football. After scoring 44 goals in his debut season, 31 of which was in La Liga and won him the Pichichi Trophy, he has begun his second season in even hotter from, netting 16 goals in 13 appearances.

His first appearance against Barcelona in 2024-25 did not produce a goal. It was the 4-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu. Since then he has scored in every clásico he has played. He scored in the 5-2 loss in the Supercopa Espana, as well as in the Copa del Rey final defeat in April, before netting a hat-trick in the 4-3 loss in May.
