Chelsea were ruthless and rampant against Ajax as they outclassed the Dutch side in a 5-1 win.

When it rains, it pours and under the evening shower at Stamford Bridge, it was raining goals for Chelsea. The Premier League side beat Ajax 5-1 in an exciting match that saw them take all three points.

Ajax came to Stamford Bridge looking to get their first point in the UEFA Champions League, but they left with none as Chelsea dominated the tie from start to finish.

Maresca made heavy rotations to his squad and for a moment, you would’ve thought Ajax had a chance but by the end of the first half, the game was well and truly gone.

As both sides tugged it out with Ajax having early chances, the game took a turn as Ajax’s Taylor got red-carded for a foul on Bounanotte. After that red card, it was a slippery slope for the Dutch side.

Chelsea scored immediately as Guiu tapped the ball past Pasveer. With that goal, he momentarily became Chelsea’s youngest goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.

The Blues doubled their lead through Caicedo in the 27th minute but were pegged back by a Weghorst penalty in the 33rd minute. Weghorst’s goal brought temporary respite for Ajax as Chelsea took full advantage of the numerical advantage.

From scoring on one end of the pitch, Weghorst gave away a penalty in his box. Enzo Fernandez stepped up and calmly dispatched it to make it 3-1. Before Ajax could catch their breath, Chelsea made it 4-1 as Estevao also scored another penalty. He is now Chelsea’s youngest goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.

A few minutes into the second half, Chelsea entered fifth heaven as substitute Tyrique George also grabbed his goal, replacing Marc Guiu as the second youngest UCL goalscorer in Chelsea’s history.

For the remaining 42 minutes after George’s goal, it was attack after attack, and Ajax were lucky to leave with a 5-1 scoreline.

The Dutch giants are still on the search for their first point in the UCL but for Chelsea, this is six points in the UCL and their 4th consecutive win in all competition.
