Bayern Munich hosts Club Brugge in the Champions League, looking to extend their perfect start to the season.
Bayern Munich is set to host Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday, aiming to extend their perfect start to the season.
The German giants have been on fire, winning 11 matches in all competitions, with Harry Kane scoring 19 goals in just 11 appearances. Vincent Kompany’s men will be strong favorites heading into this match, given their impressive form.
Club Brugge, however, has shown promise, winning their last three league matches and sitting second in the Belgian first division.
The Belgian side made a strong start to their Champions League campaign, beating Monaco 4-1, but then fell to a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta. They will look to bounce back against Bayern, but it won’t be an easy task.
Bayern Munich has some injury concerns, with Alphonso Davies (knee), Hiroki Ito (foot), and Jamal Musiala (ankle) all sidelined. Serge Gnabry is also a doubt with an adductor problem, while Josip Stanišić is edging closer to full fitness.
Club Brugge, meanwhile, will be without Simon Mignolet (fractured fibula), Raphael Onyedika (hamstring), and Ludovit Reis (shoulder). The team will need to be at its best to challenge Bayern’s strong lineup.
The two sides have a history, having met in the Champions League group stage 20 years ago. Bayern won their home fixture 1-0, while the return leg in Belgium ended in a 1-1 draw.
