Legendary Bayern Munich midfielder Lothar Matthäus thinks a Dortmund win would be ‘good for the Bundesliga’, promoting competition and excitement in the league.

Lothar Matthäus, the German football legend, is rooting for an upset in the upcoming Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

The ex-Bayern midfielder believes that a Dortmund win would be beneficial for the league, promoting competition and excitement.

“It would be good for the Bundesliga if Dortmund, in this case the underdog, creates the sensation against the unbeatable Bayern,” Matthäus told reporters.

He thinks that an exciting championship to the end would be more attractive for the Bundesliga, both domestically and internationally.

Matthäus’s comments come at a time when Bayern Munich is on a hot streak, having won all ten competitive games this campaign. However, Dortmund has been struggling, and a win in Munich would be a huge boost for their title hopes.

The rivalry between Bayern and Dortmund is always intense, and this match is expected to be a thrilling encounter. The two teams have a rich history, and their matches are always highly anticipated.

Bayern has often dominated their encounters with Dortmund, but the Westphalians have been on a roll lately, and Matthäus thinks they have a good chance of winning.

“Of course, three points would be best,” Matthäus said. “But at least they shouldn’t lose if they want to stay within striking distance.” Dortmund’s winless streak against Bayern has been a concern, but Matthäus believes they have the potential to turn things around this weekend.
