Get the latest updates on Chelsea’s injury list, including return dates for Cole Palmer, Andrey Santos, Josh Acheampong, and other key players.

Chelsea’s injury crisis continues to be a concern for the team, but there’s some good news ahead. After a dramatic 2-1 win over Liverpool, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is set to welcome back some key players from injury.

Josh Acheampong, who was substituted in the second half against Liverpool, is reportedly fine and was only taken out as a precautionary measure. Benoit Badiashile, who limped off in the second half, is also expected to be fit for the Nottingham Forest game on October 18.

Andrey Santos, who missed the win over Liverpool, is expected to be out until after the international break but should be fit for the Nottingham Forest game as well.

Cole Palmer, who has been out with a groin injury, is still undergoing assessment, and a meeting is set to take place to determine the next steps. It’s possible he could return around the same time as the others, on October 18.

Wesley Fofana, who was concussed in a collision with Filip Jorgensen, has to be sidelined for 12 days as he completes concussion return protocols, meaning he’ll also return after the international break.

Tosin Adarabioyo, who picked up a small calf injury, is also due to return after the break. With these players returning, Chelsea will have a fuller squad to choose from, which is much-needed given their current injury woes.

On the other hand, some players are facing longer-term absences. Dario Essugo, who had surgery on a thigh injury, is expected to be out for a minimum of 12 weeks, which could see him sidelined until 2026. Levi Colwill’s ACL injury will keep him out for most of the 2025-26 season, with a potential return in Spring 2026.

Another concerning injury is that of Delap, who pulled up with a hamstring injury in the game against Fulham. Maresca initially suggested it could be six to eight weeks, but it’s now feared he could be out for longer.

The return of these players will undoubtedly be a boost for Chelsea, who have struggled with injuries this season. With a fuller squad, Maresca will have more options to choose from, which could make a big difference in the team’s performance.

Overall, Chelsea’s injury list is still a long one, but with some players set to return soon, the team will be hoping for a more stable run of games.
