Tottenham manager Thomas Frank hailed his team’s resilience and character after securing a 2-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was thrilled with his team’s performance in their 2-1 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road. “We needed a win. The last three games we were without [one],” Frank said, highlighting the importance of the three points. “That feeling to get over the line, to get three points, was big.”

Frank praised his team’s character and resilience, saying, “I think the character was the foundation, to go here and get through the spells where everything was not perfect and to keep the focus.” The Spurs’ manager was impressed with his team’s defensive display, stating, “For the rest of the game, I thought we defended superbly.”

Frank highlighted Xavi Simons’ outstanding performance, saying, “I felt that was Xavi Simons’ best game for us.” Simons played a crucial role in Tottenham’s attacking play, and his contribution was instrumental in securing the victory.

Mohammed Kudus’ winning goal was a significant moment in the match, and Frank was overjoyed for the player. “I am so happy for Mo [Mohammed Kudus],” he said. “Obviously, scoring the goal because he wanted it. Not just a goal but a winner in a tight game.” Kudus’ deflected strike sealed the win for Tottenham and marked a turning point in the match.

Frank also praised Mathys Tel, who scored his first goal of the season. “I also must mention Mathys [Tel],” he said. “He got his first goal of the season. He has had his setbacks, so I am so, so happy for him.” Tel’s goal was a confidence booster for the young striker, and Frank’s persistence in backing him paid off.

The victory marked a significant milestone for Tottenham, ending their winless streak and pushing them to third place in the Premier League table.
