Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard will not join the Arsenal squad that will take on Athletic Bilbao in their UCL opener.
Arsenal will be without Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard as they open their Champions League campaign for the 2025/26 season against Athletic Bilbao.
Saka has been injured for a few weeks and while Arsenal are working to get him to full fitness, Arteta confirmed that the England winger will be unavailable against Bilbao.
The Gunners will also be without their captain Martin Odegaard who had was subbed off against Nottingham Forest after falling awkwardly from a Gibbs-White challenge. Odegaard had been injured on that shoulder previously and it seems the fall has caused a little more damage.
Ben White also didn’t train with the squad and could be out against Bilbao as well. The good news for Arsenal fans is that they have a good squad to rely on and going by the performances of Eze and Madueke against Nottingham Forest. they may have nothing to fear.
