Arsenal’s new signing Cristhian Mosquera shared his thoughts on his Premier League debut, the pace of English football, and his transition to the Gunners.

Cristhian Mosquera, Arsenal’s latest signing, has been making headlines in the Premier League with his impressive performances. The 21-year-old centre-back joined the Gunners from Valencia in a £13m deal and has already shown glimpses of his potential.

Mosquera recently spoke to media outlets while preparing for Spain’s European Under-21 Championship qualifiers, sharing his thoughts on his debut and adapting to English football.

Mosquera’s Premier League debut against Liverpool was a baptism by fire, stepping in for William Saliba just five minutes into the match. Despite a strong showing, he couldn’t prevent Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick that gave the champions a narrow win.

Mosquera acknowledged the pace of English football has taken some adjustment, saying, “It’s crazy. There’s more back and forth, it’s more direct.” He emphasised the importance of preparing for the physicality and intensity of the Premier League.

The young defender joined Arsenal knowing competition for places would be fierce. “I knew I was joining one of the best teams in the world, with the best players,” Mosquera said. He praised Mikel Arteta for being supportive and close to the players, helping him adapt to the team’s playing system.

Mosquera’s departure from Valencia was met with mixed feelings among supporters. He conceded he would have preferred a smoother exit, but emphasised his gratitude to the club that gave him everything. “I’m never going to speak badly of Valencia because I’m a Valencianista and it’s a club that has given me everything,” he said.
